Ashtanga Practice : Half Primary Series. - Home Practice.
Time: 45 minutes.
Savasna: 10 Minutes.
Notes: Today for the first time, i attempted the primary series at home. I’ve been doing yoga for at least 8 months, practicing at least twice a week and a few stints at practicing six days of the week. Most sundays i practice with a friend but this sunday she was at a yoga conference so we didn’t’ catch up for our usual sess.
Since January this year i have been practising Ashtanga at my local Shala in College Park. I have not yet completed a full primary series and can only attempt half of the finishing series. But i love it none the less. Today’s practice was full of anticipation and excitement. My breath was controlled and slow for most of it and i managed to go a little further in a couple of the postures which i normally struggle with. Overall, i don’t’ think i worked as hard as i do in a led class, however familiarity is the key, every time i practice i learn more about the postures and the series.
Currently i attend an Intro class, which i do with my lovely boyfriend and a Level 1 class. As of next week i’m adding on an extra two classes, a workshop and then a led class straight afterwards.
All in anticipation for my trip to Mysore next year. :)
